Sustainability Action Plan
London Heritage Quarter partnered with the purpose-led sustainability consultancy Bioregional, and our stakeholders to develop our first Sustainability Action Plan. Read the full plan here.
This comprehensive plan outlines clear environmental, social, and economic priorities, translated into impactful and engaging projects for delivery in and across the four Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) that comprise London Heritage Quarter: Victoria, Victoria Westminster, Whitehall and The Northbank. It includes both ongoing and new initiatives, shaped by three strategic pillars and ten key commitments, that will deliver long-term sustainability benefits for businesses, communities, Westminster, and the wider city.
We invite all partners to join us in creating a thriving, sustainable and future-ready destination. Visit our website regularly for updates on project delivery and to discover how you can get involved.
Sustainability Support and Opportunities for Local Businesses
Find a range of projects and connections designed to support your sustainability journey across key areas including waste, energy, procurement, communities, wellbeing, safety, green space and biodiversity. These initiatives are aligned with our Sustainability Action Plan.
Zero Waste and Materials & Products
- Use London Heritage Quarter’s Project Reshare to donate surplus items from refurbishments, refits and developments to local groups that can give them a new purpose.
- London Heritage Quarter and many local businesses are already signatories of the Sustainable City Charter. London Heritage Quarter also sits on the Charter’s Steering Group. Signatories can access benefits including a 10% discount on recycling services through Westminster City Council’s Commercial Waste Service.
- Our circular economy webinars and showcase events with ReLondon have helped members explore reuse, reducing food waste and maximising the value of materials. We are developing further activity focused on hospitality and reusable food and drink packaging. To express an interest in joining these projects contact info@london-hq.co.uk.
