The Griffin Catalyst Exhibition: Monet and London. Views of the Thames

Fascinated by the effects of the London fog, a phenomenon produced by the city’s heavy industrialisation in the 19th century, Monet completed his most ambitious project to date. The series depicts extraordinary views of the River Thames and its surrounding architecture, full of evocative atmosphere, mysterious light and radiant colour. Some of the most significant representations of the Thames, the paintings also capture notable landmarks from across London Heritage Quarter, like the Houses of Parliament.
