Celebrate National Walking Month in 2026 with a series of guided walking tours through some of central London’s most historic and picturesque neighbourhoods.
In partnership with Westminster City Guides and The Royal Parks, London Heritage Quarter is offering visitors the chance to explore the local area and hear stories from the riverfront with expert local guides. These walks bring the area’s rich history to life, uncovering hidden details, stories, and landmarks you might otherwise miss.

St James’s Park Tree Walk

St James’s Park to Whitehall Riverfront
To mark London Rivers Week 2026, this walk traced the old Whitehall Palace from Henry VIII’s deer park and playground to Queen Mary’s steps by the River. The walk took place at 12:30pm on 26 May 2026.
