This Christmas season, London Heritage Quarter and Network Rail have opened a Christmas zone with a life-size snow globe in Victoria Station, Wednesday 10th – Friday 12th December and Charing Cross Station, 13th –14th December. This experience has been delighting visitors of all ages with its charm and interactive elements.

The life-sized snow globe offers visitors the chance to immerse themselves in a winter wonderland, complete with a snowman and faux snow for a truly festive experience. Alongside the Enchanted Snow Globe, Live renditions of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker are being performed by four ballerinas, including beloved pieces like the Waltz of the Flowers and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Performances are scheduled for 8am, 12:30pm, 3pm, and 5pm, followed by a 30-minute interactive roaming session by the dancers.

To enhance the festive experience, two hosts in Nutcracker-inspired attire are present to assist visitors with photography, ensure safety, and distribute delightful novelty prizes hidden within snowflakes inside the globe.

The experience is part of London Heritage Quarter’s broader festive celebrations, complementing their Christmas lights along the Strand.

This year’s fairy themed display is a nod to local history, celebrating the work of Joseph Swan who created the world’s first ever fairy lights for the Savoy Theatre.

Ruth Duston OBE, OC, Chief Executive of London Heritage Quarter expressed her excitement by saying:

“We are delighted to unveil this captivating Christmas display at two of London’s largest train stations. This event not only celebrates the festive season as people travel in and out of London, but also demonstrates our commitment to ensuring a magical and inclusive holiday season for all, through our festive lights, workshops, and community outreach initiatives.”
