A new space was unveiled at Strand Aldwych on December 7, 2022, transforming one of London’s busiest and most polluted streets into a vibrant destination. Westminster City Council invested £22 million to converting over 7000m2 of roadway into a welcoming public space, linking key cultural and educational centres. Developed in partnership with local stakeholders including Northbank BID, King’s College London, London School of Economics, Somerset House Trust, St Mary Le Strand, and The Courtauld Institute, the project enhances the urban landscape and encourages community interaction.
