We are delighted to announce that we are working with the purpose-led sustainability consultancy, Bioregional, to develop a sustainability plan for London Heritage Quarter and the four BIDs.
The project will conclude in March next year with the launch of the 10-point plan and a net zero road map. Our 10-point sustainability plan will draw together all our strands of sustainability activity, including net zero activity, being delivered now across the four BID areas, and provide a robust framework for planning and delivering future projects and programmes. Together with Bioregional we will create a plan that sets out areas of focus and priorities to create a more resilient London Heritage Quarter.
Alex Berry, Chair of the London Heritage Quarter Sustainability Steering Group and Executive Assistant and Head of Sustainability at Strand Palace Hotel said, “Our work with Bioregional will make the four Business Improvement Districts, and the London Heritage Quarter as a whole, more sustainable. We look forward to developing the plan over the next few months through a series of engagement activities and rolling out new work streams once the plan is launched.”
Steph Schlipper, Associate Director from Bioregional said, “We are delighted to be working with London Heritage Quarter on the development of its ambitious sustainability plan. It is inspiring to see that the four BID areas are committed to ensuring sustainable impact is delivered for the future. Our internationally recognised One Planet Living framework will ensure that the plan is robust and covers all aspects of sustainability
BID members are encouraged to look out for a sustainability survey that will appear in our December newsletter. It will be shaped around Bioregional’s renowned One Planet Living framework that it developed in 2003 with WWF. The survey affords BID members a unique opportunity to shape the project documents that will guide the development, implementation, and monitoring of projects across the London Heritage Quarter footprint in the years ahead.
