Procurement, Deliveries & Healthier Streets

Could small changes to procurement and deliveries help your business identify and reduce avoidable delivery trips, improve efficiency and support healthier streets?

London Heritage Quarter is inviting local businesses in both multi-occupier and single-occupier buildings to take part in short conversations exploring how goods and services are ordered and delivered and whether there are simple opportunities to work smarter.

The aim is to:

  • Understand how deliveries currently operate
  • Map and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary vehicle movements and improve efficiency
  • Explore where collaboration between businesses could create benefits
  • Identify practical steps that work for individual organisations
  • Support cleaner air and healthier local streets while ensuring businesses continue to get what they need

These conversations are not about reducing deliveries at all costs or requiring businesses to change suppliers. Instead, they are about understanding what is possible, sharing ideas and exploring where small changes could create positive outcomes.

For multi-occupier buildings, initial conversations can be incorporated into an existing tenants’ meeting. For single occupiers, we can speak with colleagues responsible for procurement, deliveries and operations.

The conversations build on learnings from previous freight projects delivered with BID members and draw on insights from London Heritage Quarter’s air quality monitoring network that tracks Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂) and Particulate Matter (PM2.5), providing valuable local air quality data.
