The five star Great Scotland Yard Hotel, Westminster, has launched Chapter 2 of their series of Tea Chronicles: The Royal Interlude for summer – fit for royalty, and steeped in intrigue. Set in The Parlour, the new afternoon tea is paired with Lavazza, the official coffee of Wimbledon, and features a celebration of timeless elegance and royal fascinations paying tribute to the iconic British Royal Family, drawing inspiration from their passions, pastimes, and enduring charm.
With a nod to the Royals’ love for tennis, an extra special themed Wimbledon afternoon tea will also run from 16 June – 13 July. From 14 July, the story shifts to highlight the regal accessories that define royal heritage — fascinators, heirloom jewellery, and distinguished pocket watches. This elegant tribute not only honours royal tradition but also continues the daring tale of The 40 Elephants, the infamous all-female gang known for their flair in fashion and rebellion.

Guests can enjoy an elevated experience, featuring a seasonal summer menu with broccoli, rocket and lemon quiche; chicken coronation on malted bread; prawn cocktail and avocado roll; Clarence Court egg truffle mayo and chives on pain de mie and caramelised Jerusalem artichoke and caramelised cauliflower and Montgomery Cheddar Yorkshire pudding. A delectable assortment of sweet treats will be served, including Pimm’s and lemon drizzle tea cake; mango, yuzu and coconut tennis ball; and strawberry and elderflower cheesecake on the Wimbledon menu. For the Royal Interlude, choose from the ‘40E Chandelier’ – Jivara, Oabika and black tea cake; GSY pocket watch – Lavazza coffee mousse and whisky entremet; and ‘The Rembrandt Hat’ – almond, blueberry and lavender praline choux. Freshly baked plain and raisin scones will also be served alongside Cornish clotted cream and raspberry and lemon jam, plus premium, fragrant teas by Jing.
