Developments in Victoria

Recently our CEO, Ruth Duston OBE, OC, and COO, Katherine Fleming attended a walking tour of Victoria and Victoria Westminster Districts, amongst property owners to explore the development pipeline. More than £4bn worth of investment has been made, unlocking in excess of 3m sq ft of new office, commercial and residential space in Victoria, including the completion of landmark developments such as Landsec’s Nova and Zig Zag and also Verde. This part of central London has transformed massively and continues to change as a dynamic and vibrant location.

Ruth commented, “It was fascinating to walk around the Victoria and Westminster areas with some of our property owners and discuss the continued evolution of the districts.

“Since the Victoria BID was established in 2010 the streetscape, sector mix and amenity offer have completely transformed. A place once dominated by Government buildings now hosts a thriving fashion hub with Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani, Burberry and Jimmy Choo all in SW1. We also have an increasingly vibrant leisure offer to complement these changes; Harry’s Bar, The Alchemist, BAM Karaoke Box and Lane7 all bring a new energy to the mix around Victoria Station.

“What is truly remarkable is that there is still so much in the pipeline! Over 1.15m sq ft of prime office space will come on stream within the next three years, alongside improved public spaces and more destination restaurants, like Cornus soon to arrive in Eccleston Yards. I can’t wait to see all this delivered and watch as we enter yet another new phase of Victoria!”
